Christina
Artist | Student | Traditional Art
United States
I'm Christina and I've been making art for as long as I can remember. I've always known that I wanted to be an artist, and in the fall of 2013, I'll be attending a college for art and design. Most of my artwork is either fanart or drawings of my characters from my novels. I have 7 of them: Forces, Gone Her Voice, Without Reason, Not So Romeo, Monroeville, Lamenting Apples, and The Demon Falls In Love.

I'm open for collaboration, art trades, and commissions!

Favourite genre of music: classical, orchestral
Favourite style of art: lovely and grotesque combined.
Favourite cartoon character: Bubbles
Personal Quote: "To sleep; perchance to dream. Ay, there's the rub; for in that sleep of death what dreams may come," - William Shakespeare
Interests
I've finally decided which characters in my books will be which fairytale characters. My goal is to have each of my and my sister's books represented.
Swan Lake - Bloodlust (my sister's novel series)
Odette - Brooke
Rothbart - Psymon

Rapunzel - Not So Romeo
Rapunzel - Amelia

Red Riding Hood - Without Reason
Little Red - Scarlett
Big Wolf - Leon

Peter Pan - Lamenting Apples
Wendy - Melody
Captain Hook - Elijah

Sleeping Beauty -  Forces Trilogy
Sleeping Beauty - Natalie
The Prince - Charles

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves - Words Never Spoken
Snow White - Hayley

The Wicked Prince - Monroeville
The Prince - Dominic
The Angel - Carmine

Beauty and the Beast - Damaged (my sister's novel)
The Beauty - Janelle

The Little Mermaid - Wind
The Little Mermaid - Hikari

The Phantom of the Opera - Disenchanted (my sister's novel)
Christine - Cassie
Erik - Jack/Kevin

Cinderella - Maniacs (my sister's novel)
Cinderella - Ami
The Prince - Milo

Alrighty, so I still have quite a few to draw still. And that last one was actually a story I forgot about so I had to assign a fairytale to it off the top of my head, so it might change in the future. But, for now, that seems to be the final list! In my gallery, I had photos already of Scarlett, Leon, Hayley, Dominic, and Carmine.
Enjoy the series!

Hey! I read in Rosea Sidera that if anyone had a request, you would consider it.

While I wouldn't exactly call this a request, its within the same ballpark. I'm hosting a contest, and thought that maybe you could consider joining.

Heres some info: [link]

Oh... I also really want to be an artist ^^ I hope you will get there!
How do you keep going with this dream? Just curious. I have to deal with negative thoughts from others :/ Sometimes I feel like I won't get anywhere. But I still have hope.

I'm glad that you like my Kingdom Hearts art!
For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to be an artist. It was the one and only occupation I could ever really see myself doing. I've run into a lot of speedbumps too because my parents would rather I go into more intellectual academics, even though this is obviously where my passion is. I'm also at a standstill right now because I won't be able to go to college this year, as I had planned. But, I'm not giving up! I've advertised my art online, in my school, and I even hang it in my bedroom window so my neighbors have walked by and commented on it. I've set my sights on a specific dream: to become a graphic novelist. I spend every day working on that dream, striving to make it come true.
Never give up on your dream! Find inspiration from other artists and practice every day on your technique. I'll tell you that last summer, every day, I would wake up and immediately start drawing. Often, I would spend around 5 hours on a piece. EVERY DAY. If art is where your passion is, you have to follow it, no matter what others say. Please don't give up!

Yes I do! :3
Wow you do many things! I feel lazy when you're telling me this. I only isolate myself in my room, but I should go out and tell others about my work. BUT I have DA and also a fb fanpage, so I'm doing at least something...

I find it often hard to start drawing, I don't know why. But I actually have 4 drawings that I'm working on right now. And yeah! I have planned to practice on drawing different things. But I'm wondering... I have heard that it's better to do studies from real life than practicing drawing things from the computer.
Thank you for your encouragement! Art is the only thing that I have, the only thing that I would work hard for, the only thing that keeps me going.
I just need more positive thoughts.

Yeah, sometimes I just take my sketchbook, go to the park in my town, and start drawing trees. Throughout my whole 11th grade year in high school, I drew other classmates without their knowledge. Drawing from life is a fantastic way to learn because you never know when the person will move or the wind will blow, so you have to learn to draw quickly and accurately. When I'm having artist's block, I read my favorite book or watch my favorite movie. It's like free inspiration.
Also, I've looked through your gallery. I can't imagine why anyone would say anything negative about it! It shows talent, creative ability, and knowledge of the color palette. You have great potential!
